UkSATSE taking number of measures to restore and enhance surveillance system
UkSATSE is taking a number of measures to restore and enhance the surveillance system covering Ukrainian airspace in order to maintain operational activity and ensure the rapid resumption of air navigation services.
UkSATSE participated in the 2023 CEF (Connecting Europe Facility) Call for proposals of the European Commission and became one of the beneficiaries (Grant Agreement - Project 101175465 - 23-EU-TG-GREEN CNS), in particular in the project “Studying of surveillance services recovery in the airspace of Ukraine with Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast ADS-B”.
This project involves a study by UkSATSE experts of airspace users’ needs and technical capabilities; the dynamics of ADS-B aircraft equipment; the status and results of similar projects implemented in Europe; the cybersecurity of the technology use; the UkSATSE surveillance infrastructure; the development of the Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and the associated safety assessment in relation to changes in the ATM.
This technology has already proven its effectiveness in the operation of European providers, namely NAV Portugal and ENAIRE.
The team of UkSATSE experts received up-to-date information and practical assistance on the operational use of ADS-B technology and its implementation specifics during their visit to NAV Portugal and ENAIRE.
This experience will facilitate effective planning and investment in the UkSATSE surveillance infrastructure for the recovery and maintenance of its required performance.
