Traffic in Ukrainian airspace soars by 6.8 % in 2013
In 2013, Ukrainian State Air Traffic Service Enterprise (UkSATSE) serviced 534 581 flights, which represents a total increase of 6.8% on 2012.

5 years have already passed since UkSATSE provided aeronautical meteorological service on the basis of SADIS
Four and a half years ago UkSATSE launched Central Meteorological Air Navigation Service System (CMASS), with the main unit in "Kyyivtsentraero"regional branch which was opened on December 30, 2008. Thus modern high-tech meteorological service was created in Ukraine, which does not have analogues in any of the CIS countries.

On 28 November 2013, Herman Bernard Nijhuis, a project manager for the support of state aviation administrations/national supervisory bodies of EUROCONTROL, met with UkSATSE specialists during his official visit to Ukraine.

EUROCONTROL uses aircraft position data provided by UkSATSE on behalf of Ukraine
From 28 October 2013, EUROCONTROL special body – operational Enhanced Tactical Flow Management System (ETFMS) – officially started to use real time Correlated Position Report messages about aircraft operating within Kyiv flight information region. This information helps to improve the accuracy of the air traffic picture in the European region.

Ukraine presents its best practices of the Joint Civil-Military Air Traffic Management System to ICAO
On 28 – 31 October 2013, experts of the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Service Enterprise (UkSATSE) participated in the European (EUR) region civil/military cooperation seminar/workshop as part of the global ICAO campaign, convened in Ukraine.

UkSATSE has developed a new Business Plan in accordance with the European standards
The Business Plan of the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Service Enterprise for 2013-2017 which complies with the European standards has first been developed in close continuous cooperation with experts of the EUROCONTROL's Directorate of Single Sky (DSS) to follow the standards and requirements put forward to such kind of documents by the European aviation community. In October 2013, this important for the UkSATSE's operating activities document was presented in Brussels at a regular working meeting of the project participants.

October the 20th – the International Day of the Air Traffic Controller
For more than half a century on the 20th of October aviation community celebrates the International Day of the Air Traffic Controller – a professional holiday for those, who pay maximum efforts in order to provide the highest level of safety in the airspace. On this day, in the year 1961 in Amsterdam the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers Associations (IFATCA) was founded.

UkSATSE cuts the ribbon on a new Air Traffic Control Centre in Kharkiv
Today the grand opening ceremony of a new Air Traffic Control Centre took place in Kharkiv. This ATC Centre consolidates Aerodrome Control Centre and state-of-the-art Aerodrome Control TOWER which is the second one, built by the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Service Enterprise (UkSATSE).

Experience of UkSATSE in the implementation of a common transition altitude in Ukraine will be presented in Brussels at the end of September
The implementation of a common transition altitude on the level of 3050 m (10.000 ft) in Ukraine in 2004 is considered to be a significant experience for the European aviation community represented by European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL). This Ukrainian experience will be presented on September 30, 2013 during Harmonized European Transition Altitude Workshop at EUROCONTROL premises in Brussels (Belgium).

Ukraine introduces a single radiotelephony communications in busy airspace environments
On January 9, 2014 Ukraine is introducing a requirement for the usage of the only English language radiotelephony communications in those areas of Ukrainian airspace where air traffic is the most intensive. The requirements are applicable for aircraft that operate under the rules of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) except for operations of state aircraft.
