UkSATSE Flight and Calibration Services start flight inspection at Chernivtsi airport
Today, specialists of UkSATSE Flight and Calibration Services have begun performing flight checks of ground lighting equipment and angle of approach lights under a contract with the Chernivtsi International Airport named after Leonid Kadeniuk. Flights on the Super King Air 350 flying laboratory with registration number UR-CWB will continue on 23 and 24 September.

During the flights, the equipment of UkSATSE's SP-80M landing system with both courses, an automatic direction finder and a separate nondirectional radio beacon will also be checked.

UkSATSE Flight and Calibration Services are the only company in Ukraine whose fleet includes specially equipped flying laboratory aircraft that perform flight checks of ground-based radio technical support and lighting equipment. These checks are mandatory for monitoring the technical condition of existing equipment or certifying new equipment that ensures the operation of any airport and the safety of take-offs and landings at the airport. In this way UkSATSE ensures air traffic safety in the Ukrainian sky.

It should be reminded that the main task of UkSATSE is provision of air navigation services. Flight inspections are non-core activities that have been unprofitable for the enterprise during recent years. Now flight inspection contracts have been signed with almost all airports in Ukraine. In addition, one of the aircraft is now in South Africa, where it is operating under an international contract, while the other operates in Ukraine. Work is also under way on agreements with airports in Moldova, Armenia and other countries.
