Minsk incident calls into question safety in Belarusian airspace - EASA
According to EASA's Safety Information Bulletin of May 25, 2021 (SIB-No.: 2021-10), the European Union safety regulator regards the forced landing of a Ryanair flight at Minsk airport as such, which cast doubt on the safety in Belarusian airspace.

Considering that the responsibility for the operational control of an aircraft, assessing the risk of any situation and for the subsequent decision-making rests with the aircraft commander, the actions undertaken by the Republic Belarus authorities amounted to an increased safety risk for the Ryanair flight and put into question the ability of Belarus to provide safe air navigation services within own airspace.

European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) recommends to Member States Operators and third Country Operators authorised by EASA to avoid operations in FIR Minsk, unless the use of that airspace is deemed necessary to ensure safe operation in case of unforeseen circumstances for the technical investigation period.

A ban on flights between Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus and a ban on flights by Ukrainian operators in the airspace of the Republic of Belarus was imposed yesterday by the decision of Ukrainian Government in order to ensure civil aviation and the country's citizens safety.
