UkSATSE joined top ten European air navigation services providers according to the assessment of the SMS maturity
In 2016, according to the annual assessment of the SMS (Safety Management System) Maturity UkSATSE ranked 10th place among 47 European Air Navigation Services Providers. Thus the company once again proved its leading position on a number of key indicators. The assessment was performed within the framework of a joint project of the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) and the Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO).

Coordination of the Ukrainian and European air traffic controllers in contingency situations
The situation on the night of 16 December demonstrated the way Ukraine and Europe should cooperate and help each other. Approximately at 2 a.m. Lviv ATC center was informed about electricity shut-off at the similar Warsaw center in Poland. The Ukrainian air traffic controllers in very short time took control over the additional flights, which were forced to change their routing urgently and to leave Polish airspace in contingency situation. Help in such situations is based on worldwide and European practice. It is another example of readiness of Ukraine for the practical integration in the European airspace.

Today we celebrate professional holiday of the specialists who in one way or another are related to civil aviation. They are the ones who contribute to education of future professionals in aircraft production and development of new technologies, design new air routes and develop international cooperation, engineer rules and regulations for the safety of flights, as well as provide air traffic services.

Air traffic controllers in Lviv RB of UkSATSE switched over to the new automated ATC System
On the 23d of November 2016 at 13:20 Kiev time (10:20 UTC) air traffic controllers of Lviv Area Control Centre completely switched over to the provision of air traffic services using a new automated ATC System "Roksolana".

On December 7, 2016 at 09:00 UTC UkSATSE meteorological surveillance stations are launching SIGMET broadcastings in an updated format pursuant to the introduction in Ukraine of the provisions of Amendment 77 to the Annex 3 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation.

Ukraine is the only internationally recognized state, which provides air traffic services over the high seas within Simferopol FIR. This was stated by Eugen Kravtsov, First Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, during the plenary session of the 39th Assembly of ICAO – International Civil Aviation Organization, which took place on 28 September in Montreal (Canada).

Opening of the new Lviv Air Traffic Control Centre
On August 26, 2016, just on the eve of Aviation Day in Ukraine, there was a grand opening of the new Lviv Air Traffic Control Centre of Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE). That was an important event for the development of domestic aviation industry, since the opening of the new centre will improve quality and efficiency of air navigation services in the area of responsibility of Ukraine.

During thirteen months of using ProZorro electronic tendering system Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) saved UAH 7.12 million of its own funds.
