MH17: fourth anniversary of the disaster. We remember…
Today, the world honours the memory of the passengers of the Malaysia Airlines aircraft, who perished in the aircraft crash in 2014 in the sky over the occupied part of Donbas.

298 lives were interrupted by one single launch of a Buk anti-aircraft missile system. By the number of victims this attack became the most deadly in the 21st century after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the USA.

This is not only a turning point for the aviation community and the foreign policy of countries whose citizens perished, but a terrifying lesson for the entire civilized world, which must draw conclusions and prevent a recurrence of such kind of attack.

In the first days after the disaster, UkSATSE immediately provided all available information on air navigation services for the MH17 flight to the international expert investigation team, including video and audio recordings from ground-based flight data recorders. The UkSATSE team have cooperated with representatives of the Netherlands side throughout the investigation process.

The Agreement between Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands “On international legal cooperation in the case of downing the aircraft” which has been recently ratified by the Verkhovna Rada is another proof of the openness of our state and the intention to contribute in holding accountable those responsible for the tragedy. We support the statement of the Foreign Ministers of the G-7, who spoke out "against the impunity of those who participate in the aggressive actions that threaten the international order at any time and under any circumstances."

We are mourning with all those who lost their loved ones on that July day. We remember…

And we continue to work hard to ensure that the air traffic in the Ukrainian sky will be safe - with faith in the victorious peace in Ukraine.
