Establishment of State Department of Aviation Transport of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine established the State Department of Aviation Transport (Ukraviatrans) of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine. Ukraviatrans is responsible for participation in the process of realisation of state policy on civil aviation development and organisation of air transportation etc.

The meeting of representatives of airlines, International Air Transport Association (IATA) and European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) with Aviation Authorities of Ukraine and main Air Navigation Service Provider took place in Kyiv.

Special debriefing on flight safety issue and the Flight Safety Day
On 3 March 2006 at the premises of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine the special debriefing on issues regarding flight safety and air transport accidents prevention led by Mykola Marchenko, Head of State Aviation Administration, was held as well as the Flight Safety Day.

Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and Government of Slovak Republic
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and Government of Slovak Republic on transfer of responsibility for ATS and operation at Uzhgorod international airport.

Ukraine and European Union (EU) signed Agreement on aviation
On 1 December 2005 representatives of Ukraine and EU signed the Agreement between Ukraine and EU on aviation. Ratification of the document was executed in the framework of Ukraine-EU Summit, currently being conducted in Kyiv.
 

26th September 2005
Government of the United States of America and Ukrainian Government signed the Grant Agreement
On 27 September 2005 in Kyiv the Grant Agreement for financing technical support by the USA to Ukraine to assist in provision of flight safety was signed.
