Heliport
Location: Pekari village, Kaniv district, Cherkasy region. It is 8 km from Kaniv and there is an asphalt road from the heliport to Kaniv.

Heliport of the 1 class has been in operation since 2012. Kaniv heliport is appropriate for operation of flights by MI-8 helicopters with mass not exceeding 13,000 kg and which comply with Class 1 or Class 2 technical specifications and are certified as Category A or Category B Small Rotorcraft under the Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and the Instrumental Flight Rules (IFR).

Flight Information Service in class G within Kyiv FIR is performed by Flight Information Sectors of Kyiv ACC. AFIS Officer uses the received aeronautical information for the pre-flight planning and then transfers it to the flight crew.

Modern facilities for the flight safety provision, such as the Automated Radio Direction Finder, manufactured by Rhode&Schwarz (Germany), and Canada-manufactured Vector (Nautel) Non-Directional Radio Beacon enable sustainable navigation and landing. The heliport is equipped with radio- and telecommunications facilities (AFTN, telephone, facsimile, mobile telephone, Internet), as well as lightning system.

For measurement of meteorological values, making weather reports and transferring them to ATS Units and flight crews the Troposfera 1 Automated Meteorological Complex was deployed.

The Kaniv Heliport is available day and night only on prior consent of UkSATSE (Cherkasy ATSU of Kyivcenteraero RB). It cannot be used for permanent basing of aircraft and no refuelling is available at the heliport.

No coordination with UkSATSE is needed if Kaniv Heliport is used for landing/departure of urgent flights intended for health care organisations, search and rescue as well as emergency operations. The heliport is equipped with rescue and fire fighting vehicles of category 3.
