UkSATSE to install new modern radio beacons all over Ukraine
UkSATSE and Thales Deutschland GmbH signed a contract for the supply of modern equipment - five sets of omnidirectional radio beacons (DME). The document was signed by Oleksii PESTERNIKOV, Deputy Director of Maintenance and Facilities Development of UkSATSE (left) and Bernd MADER, Area Sales Manager of Thales Deutschland GmbH.

Radio beacons to be installed throughout Ukraine will ensure the reliability and continuity of navigation coverage in the relevant areas of airspace. This will improve the quality of navigation services provided by the national air navigation service provider.

This project is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB). The equipment was purchased in accordance with EBRD rules and procedures. This was preceded by extensive work, started three years ago, with foreign partners including EBRD consultants.

The mutually beneficial partnership between UkSATSE and Thales, a leading German manufacturer of air navigation equipment, has lasted for about twenty years.

Characteristics of all navigation aids, which were installed by UkSATSE, meet ICAO standards and recommended practices and national certification requirements. The policy of continuous technical upgrades allows UkSATSE to provide top-quality air navigation services and guarantee a high level of flight safety in the Ukrainian sky.
