| Georgian Colleagues Study Ukrainian Experience of Air Traffic Flow Management |
On March 10 – 11, 2017, UkSATSE hosted representatives of “Sakaeronavigatsia”, Georgian Air Navigation Service Provider.
Colleagues from Georgia came to study the experience of establishing and organizing operation of flow management positions (FMP) that are fully integrated into the activities of EUROCONTROL, the organization which directly carries out the function of air traffic flow management in the European region.
 Comment by Alex KORGANASHVILI, FMP Manager of “Sakaeronavigatsia”:
– Ukraine has come this way a little earlier than we, since 2005, the year of FMP implementation. Our Ukrainian colleagues have done a big job, which results in a well-organized system of air traffic flow monitoring and regulating that allows for timely identification and handling of situations related to airspace congestion.
We are now in Tbilisi at the final stage of FMP implementation, and I would like to thank our Ukrainian colleagues who kindly invited us to visit Kyiv to share their experience and exchange views on operational issues associated with FMP. |
