Ukrainian aviation authorities, UkSATSE and FAA consider the possibility of flights resumption of the aircraft with the US registration in the airspace under responsibility of Ukraine |
Specialists of Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE), as part of Ukrainian delegation, held consultations with representatives of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), State Department and the US Department of Defense at FAA headquarters in Washington DC.
Main issue of the consultation was consideration of the possibility of reviewing the SFAR No.113 document, which prohibits flights within Simferopol and Dnipropetrovsk flight information regions of operators registered in the United States, due to the temporary occupation by Russia of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Russian aggression in the East of Ukraine. This will be the first step towards renewal of operations of air carriers with American registration in that part of Ukrainian airspace.
UkSATSE representatives made a presentation on the situation of air navigation services in Simferopol and Dnipropetrovsk flight information regions and provided convincing proofs that the airspace under Ukrainian responsibility is safe, which confirms that Ukraine has taken effective measures to reduce risk of hazards in those areas.
The parties also discussed the issue of the US involvement in the process of normalization of air traffic flows in the international airspace over the Black Sea in Simferopol flight information region where the responsibility for servicing air traffic is assigned to Ukraine.
In addition, a working meeting of the Ukrainian delegation with representatives of Ukrainian embassy in the USA took place.
At the talks in Washington UkSATSE was represented by Ruslan Gutsan, First Deputy Director, Operations and Oleksandr Hnatiuk, Head of Airspace Management Division of Air Navigation Service.
"Taking into account consistent measures that Ukraine has taken to ensure safety and efficiency of air navigation services in the new environment, interaction with FAA and the prospect of revision of SFAR No.113 is a very important factor in renovation of aircraft operations of the world leading airlines in the airspace under the responsibility of Ukraine ", - said Ruslan Gutsan, First Deputy Director, Operations." |
