Ukraine ready to participate in Flexible Use of Airspace Centralized Services for EUROCONTROL Member States |
Ukrainian Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE), the National Air Navigation Service Provider, is authorized to represent our State in the international consortium that claims a right to provide one of the centralized services on Flexible Use of Airspace for the European countries.
If the consortium consisting of Air Navigation Service Providers of Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania, as well as the leading manufacturer of air navigation equipment – Indra (Spain), wins the open tender it will be entitled to provide the above service.
On January 15, 2015 Warsaw will host a meeting of CEOs of companies which are the potential Consortium Members, where Dmytro Babeichuk will agree between the partners the final version of the tender bid to be submitted for EUROCONTROL tender.
Flexible Use of Airspace concept has been successfully employed by UkSATSE for more than 15 years, which is possible due to the functioning of the Joint Civil-Military Air Traffic Management System in Ukraine. As a result, the utmost balance of commercial and state aviation interests, air traffic effectiveness as well as national defence capability has been gained. The international aviation community highly appreciates this experience of Ukraine.
Ukraine being EUROCONTROL Member State actively supports the introduction of the Single European Sky initiative and is ready to take further steps towards its implementation. In particular, EUROCONTROL has identified the initial nine Centralized Services most expedient to be implemented on pan-European basis. UkSATSE jointly with its partners will focus on the elaboration of one of the services, namely, “CS 4 Advanced Flexible Use of Airspace Support Service (AFUAS)”. This service aims at full deployment of efficient civil-military airspace management capabilities. That will enable to improve flight safety and efficiency and eventually reduce costs incurred by air carriers, which in its turn will have positive impact on flight costs for passengers. |
