Air Navigation Service Providers of Ukraine and Poland enhance safety of European airspace
On February 21, 2017, in Warsaw, leaders of Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) and Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA) signed an agreement on sharing radar data.

“This agreement is yet another proof of close cooperation between air navigation service providers of Ukraine and Poland. First of all, the exchange of surveillance data will increase level of safety in the area of responsibility of Lviv area control center and in the South-Eastern part of European airspace in which air traffic control is provided by Polish air traffic controllers. Such cooperation corresponds to the modern tendencies of civil aviation development and to the recommendations of ICAO and EUROCONTROL”, - said UkSATSE Director Dmytro Babeichuk.

According to the agreement, UkSATSE will provide PANSA information from the radar complex ATCR-33S / SIR-S, installed in Lviv and Polish party will provide Lviv with the data from monopulse radar installed in Rzeszów. There were also defined the rules of information exchange, data quality parameters and methods of their verification. It is expected that operative exchange of radar data will begin in May 2017.

As it was emphasized by the leaders of both companies, the neighborhood and strategic location of the countries give them wide field for deepening mutually beneficial partnership between the air navigation service providers, in particular for the exchange of their experience in the context of the implementation of the Single European Sky project.
