Air traffic volume in Ukraine decreased by 56% in October
UkSATSE provided air navigation services for 13,041 flights in October 2020, which is 56.4% less than in the same period in 2019.

Ukrainian airlines operated 4,943 flights (49.6% less than in October last year), foreign airlines operated 8,098 flights (-59.8%).

Air traffic by type of flight is structured as follows: 2260 flights performed in October - domestic (-15.7% compared to October 2019), 6250 - international (-56.8%), 4531 - transit (-64.6%).
The dynamics of number of flights in the airspace of Ukraine in 2020 is as follows: June - 4,584 flights, July - 12,195 flights, August - 16,690 flights, September - 14,959 flights.

The expectations of the international aviation community to restore flight intensity in the second half of 2020 were not met. We should not count on positive trends in air traffic until the end of the year, as during the winter navigation period flight demand is always lower than in the summer season, and the epidemic situation in many countries does not contribute to the abolition of quarantine.

To avoid a deepening crisis in the aviation industry, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) is appealing to governments around the world to lift the quarantine on travelers, replacing it with COVID-19 testing.

IATA predicts that the volume of air traffic in the world will decrease by 66% this year compared to 2019, and demand for air traffic will decrease by 68% in December.
