The Ukrainian air traffic in September is minus 56% compared to 2019
In September 2020, UkSATSE provided air navigation services for 14,959 flights, which is 56.6% less than in the same period in 2019.
Ukrainian airlines performed 6,100 flights (43.6% less than in September last year), foreign airlines - 8,859 flights (-62.6%).
Distribution of flights by type: 2,710 flights performed in September - domestic (-0.3% compared to September 2019), 7,017 - international (-55.4%) and 5,232 - transit (-67.4%).

EUROCONTROL notes a significant deviation from the April air traffic recovery scenario
According to an updated forecast by the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), the percentage decrease in the number of flights in the European airspace in September should have been -40% of the same indicator for 2019, but this indicator has already reached -54%.

Specialists of state aviation to be trained at UkSATSE Separate Branch
Separate Branch Aviation Training and Certification Center (ATCC) of UkSATSE was recognized as the winner of the auction for training of aviation specialists of state aviation held by the Southern Regional Directorate of the State Border Service of Ukraine (military unit 9997, Odesa).

ATCC is the only organization in Ukraine that holds a valid certificate for training of state aviation specialists in maintenance.

UkSATSE to receive additional functionality for its Air Traffic Management (ATM) System from Spanish manufacturer for free
The enhanced functionality of AIRCON 2100 Air Traffic Management (ATM) System software, which operates at Dnipropetrovsk Area Control Centre (ACC), will be available to UkSATSE under the current contract for modernization of AIRCON 2100 ATM system with the manufacturer free of charge. This agreement was reached during negotiations between Andriy Yarmak, Head of UkSATSE, and Federico Rueda Laorga, Director of International Air Traffic Programmes of Indra Systemas S.A. (Spain) at the head office of UkSATSE today.

The Intergovernmental Agreement between Ukraine and Slovakia defines the part of Slovak airspace that is necessary for flights to Uzhhorod and the procedures and conditions for its use
The intergovernmental Agreement between Ukraine and the Slovak Republic on the conditions of use of a certain part of the Slovak airspace, which has been concluded today, was the result of a long joint work of specialists of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and UkSATSE. This complex and important process, starting with the preparation of the Agreement text, its approval by both governments and finally the signing of the Agreement, is now moving to the next stage, which requires additional efforts from all participants so that the Uzhhorod Airport can finally resume full operation. Ahead of it, there will be national ratification of the Agreement by both parties and signing of implementation protocols, which will regulate technical issues of relations between Ukrainian and Slovak air navigation service providers, as well as interaction between relevant bodies of the Ministry of Defence of both countries. As a result, air traffic services in the part of the Slovak airspace will be provided by the Ukrainian provider of air navigation services of Ukraine - UkSATSE.

UkSATSE Flight and Calibration Services start flight inspection at Chernivtsi airport
Today, specialists of UkSATSE Flight and Calibration Services have begun performing flight checks of ground lighting equipment and angle of approach lights under a contract with the Chernivtsi International Airport named after Leonid Kadeniuk. Flights on the Super King Air 350 flying laboratory with registration number UR-CWB will continue on 23 and 24 September.

UkSATSE Flight and Calibration Services performed flight inspection for airport at Dnipro city
Under the contract with Dnipropetrovsk International Airport, UkSATSE Flight and Calibration Services professionals carried out flight inspection of ground-based radio navigation aids and lighting equipment.

EUROCONTROL has revised downwards its forecast for the recovery of air traffic from September 2020 to February 2021 and foresees a total industry loss of over 140 billion euros
Under its new Current Status Scenario, the total number of flights expected in Europe will be lower by 55% than in 2019, a drop of 6 million fewer flights. Taking all of the above into account, there will potentially be a total industry loss in Europe in revenues of approximately 140 billion during 2020 for airlines, ANSPs and airports.

August air traffic in the Ukrainian airspace: minus 56%
The total number of flights that UkSATSE provided air navigation services in August 2020 amounts to 16,690, which is 56.3% less than in August 2019.

Ukrainian airlines operated 6,373 flights (45.5% less than last August), foreign airlines performed 10317 flights (-61.1%). By flight type: 2,519 flights performed in August were domestic (-15.7%), 8,249 were international (-50.4%) and 5,922 were transit (-68.2%).

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) Calls on Governments for Recovery of the Aviation Industry and Borders to Open
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is calling on governments to work together to find ways to recover of the aviation industry and open the borders which are still mostly closed.

In its statement, IATA indicates that quarantine continues to reduce the demand for travel - during the peak summer period, four in five potential travelers stayed at home. As a result, there was no expected increase in flight volume.
