Press releases
16.01.2017
In 2016 UkSATSE provided air navigation services for more than 214 thousand flights
In 2016 the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) provided air navigation services (ANS) for 214,262 flights, which is 8.8% fewer than in 2015. The decrease was the result of reduction of transit traffic caused by the closure of Ukrainian airspace over the Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone and over the temporarily occupied peninsula of Crimea, and due to imposing reciprocal bans on direct flights between Ukraine and Russia.

UkSATSE ensured provision of ANS services for 81,885 flights of domestic airlines (which is 17.6% higher than within the same period last year) and for 132,377 flights of foreign airlines (which is 19.9% lower than in 2015). Out of them 86,290 flights (-26.6%) are attributed to transit flights, 104,565 (+9.5%) - to international flights (departure/landing) and 23,407 (+7.0%) - to domestic flights.

For the first time within the last three years there was a positive dynamic of the number of takeoffs and landings in the Ukrainian airports – this index amounts to 145,764, which is 9.3% higher than in 2015. The largest number of takeoffs and landings were performed by Ukrainian and foreign airlines at the following Ukrainian airports: Kyiv (Boryspil) 75,280 (+7.4% compared to 2015), Kyiv (Zhuliany) 20,727 (+4.6%), Odesa 12,271 (+3.4%), Lviv 8,931 (+22.4%), Dnipro 7,351 (-17.0%), Kharkiv 6,628 (+61.1%).
