| Today is the 20th anniversary of establishment of the JCMS |
20 years ago, on July 19, 1999, there was established the Joint Civil-Military Air Traffic Management System of Ukraine (UMCS) , all subdivisions of which are part of the structure of UkSATSE. This is a unique system by its fundamental criteria, which remains an example not only for the countries of the post-Soviet area, but also for Europe.
This date was the beginning of important qualitative changes in the sphere of airspace use and air traffic management. Without exaggeration, it was a substantial step in the development of civil aviation, which led to the growth of the route network and the attraction of an increasing number of airlines in the Ukrainian airspace, and with this - and growth of revenues of the company, which accelerated its technical modernization.
"Large-scale structural changes in the industry necessary for the creation and development of the JСMS were made possible by the combined efforts of civil and military specialists of various institutions: the Government, the Ministries of Défense and Transport, the Committee on the Use of Airspace and specialists of UkSATSE. They were the most advanced intellectuals, to a certain extent courageous, and each of them did everything possible and impossible at their place to achieve the goal," said UkSATSE CEO Oleksandr Dotsenko during the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the JСMS in the head office of UkSATSE.
"We work with nearly all governmental structures, we closely cooperate with ministries, departments, airports, and this gives us confidence that the system will be operating, developing and it will have a bright future," said Deputy Director of UkSATSE - Head of Ukraerocenter, Major-General Oleksandr Volkov.
We would like to thank all of the founders of the JСMS and those who are still making efforts for the development of the system: civil and military specialists, representatives of the Ministry of Défense of Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Air Force of Ukraine, the State Aviation Administration, the leadership and staff of UkSATSE. A number of departmental awards were given to the company's specialists and aviation veterans - those who created the system and worked in its units at that time. Among the distinguished guests of the celebration were, in particular: Yaroslav Skalko, Yuri Sydorenko, Viktor Bereza, Vladymyr Maksymenko.
