“Implementation of the project of expansion of EGNOS system coverage on the territory of Ukraine means increase of air navigation quality and safety of flights” – Director of UkSATSE, Dmytro Babeichuk |
UkSATSE is interested in speeding-up implementation of the project of the expansion of EGNOS system in Ukraine and inclusion of our country in a list of the participants. This will allow the users of the system, first of all they are aviation users, receiving high-precision and reliable data of their location, which consequently improve safety of flights in the airspace of Ukraine. This is what was said by Dmytro Babeichuk, Director of UkSATSE, after the working meeting of UkSATSE management and the first deputy chairman of the State Space Agency of Ukraine Sergei Kapshtyka.
Dmytro Babeichuk has also stressed that EGNOS project allows raising efficiency of air navigation services by reducing the number of required traditional ground-based navigational systems. In the long term it will be especially evident in airports with low intensity of flights.
Expansion of EGNOS system on the territory of Ukraine, as mentioned Dmytro Babeichuk, will be another step of deepening European integration processes.
"UkSATSE is the largest provider of air navigation services in Ukraine which offers the services to both civil and state airspace users without exception. We consider participation in EGNOS project as Ukraine's contribution to the development of European air traffic management system which will allow to solve a number of issues of improving the quality of air navigation, and as a result - it will increase traffic safety, not only in the airspace of Ukraine but also throughout Eastern Europe "- accentuated Dmytro Babeichuk
Reference: EGNOS project is the European Geostationary Service of navigation coverage, which was created by order and under supervision of the so-called European Tripartite Group (ETG), which include representatives of the European Space Agency, EUROCONTROL and the European Community. EGNOS is designed to improve operation of GPS, GLONASS and Galileo on the territory of Europe. |
