SAFETY is above all
On August 7, 2019, the pilot of the Russian airline Globus Boeing-737-800 REG-VQBMG, performing a GLP636 flight from Bari (Italy) to Moscow. In connection with the bypassing of heavy thunderstorm activity, received a permission to use the airspace of Ukraine from the Ukraerocenter in the area of responsibility of Lviv Regional Control Center. Our specialists were guided by the decision of the Flight Safety Council of the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine dated December 2, 2015, as well as by the laws and regulations of Ukraine in the field of aviation and airspace use, adhering to the ICAO standards. Also, the actions of the personnel in case of necessity to bypass dangerous weather phenomena by the aircraft are provided in the agreement (LoA) between the air traffic service authorities of Ukraine and Slovakia and other neighbouring countries.

"We were operating within the framework of ICAO international standards and recommended practices and the decision of the Flight Safety Council of SAA of Ukraine for air traffic safety and avoidance of emergency situations during the flight. For UkSATSE, as a national provider of air navigation services, safety of aircraft in the airspace of Ukraine remains a priority," - said Oleksandr Dotsenko.

It should be noted that the decision of the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine stipulates that in cases of bypassing dangerous meteorological phenomena (if the bypass without entering the airspace of Ukraine may lead to an emergency situation with the aircraft), aircraft, including those registered in the Russian Federation, may be allowed to enter the airspace of Ukraine.

Boeing-737-800 entered Ukrainian airspace at 15:07UTC through the LADOB navigation point at FL370 and exited it at 15:33UTC through the AMIRI navigation point at FL370.
