UkSATSE improves the quality of professional training for its air traffic controllers with support of the leading European financial institutions |
Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) has signed the contract with the leading Italian manufacturer of air navigation equipment – Leonardo S.p.A. for the purchase and installation of the ATC simulator for controllers of Kyiv ATM Centre.
This is the first contract within the project of air navigation system modernization, implemented jointly with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB). The contract value is 3 million 691 thousand euro, time for completion - 18 months.
The simulator has extended functionality and a wide range of training exercises. This allows you to simulate any air situation with a different set of data for air traffic controllers to learn new procedures, which are now being extensively implemented in air traffic control.
UkSATSE Director Dmytro Babeichuk commented: "Our first investment within this large-scale project together with the leading European financial institutions is aimed to meet the needs of the key personnel – air traffic controllers. Taking into account their wishes and requirements this particular simulator was chosen for training in accordance with the leading European standards."
The most up-to-date training and effective implementation of new technologies will enhance the level of flights safety in the Ukrainian sky.

Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE), founded in 1992, is the basis of the national air navigation system and Joint Civil-Military Air Traffic Management System of Ukraine (JCMS). The company provides the full range of air navigation services: air traffic service, air traffic flow management, airspace management, provision of communication, navigation and surveillance for air traffic services and flights performance; JCMS operation and development; emergency notification and search and rescue operations; provision of aeronautical and meteorological information to the airspace users. |
