Volume of air traffic services provided by UkSATSE in 2018 increased by 18.5%
In 2018, Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) provided air navigation services for 300,853 flights, which is 18.5% more than in 2017.

UkSATSE provided air navigation services for 106,654 flights of domestic airlines (which is 9.7% more than in 2017) and for 194,199 flights of foreign airlines (which is 23.9% more than in the same period last year), where 125,145 flights (+23%) are attributed to transit flights, 146,115 (+16.2%) to international flights (departure/landing) and 29,593 (+11.8%) to domestic flights.

The results of last year consolidated the dynamics of the growth in the volume of air navigation services provided by UkSATSE, which resumed in 2017 after a sharp decrease in the intensity of flights in Ukraine's airspace in 2014 caused by the occupation of the Crimea and the commencement of hostilities in the eastern part of Ukraine.

An increase in the volume of air navigation services allows UkSATSE to invest in important infrastructure projects, important for the development of the national air navigation system, consequently contributing to the safety enhancement in the airspace of Ukraine. It also leads to an increase in assignments to the state budget and trust funds and is a guarantee of social protection of UkSATSE employees.

For three consecutive years now, the number of takeoffs and landings in the Ukrainian airports where air navigation services are provided by UkSATSE has increased to 205,301 aircraft movements, which is 14.9% more than in 2017. The largest number of aircraft movements was performed by Ukrainian and foreign airlines at the following Ukrainian airports: Kyiv (Boryspil) 97,928 movements (+10.8% compared to 2017), Kyiv (Zhuliany) 33,808 movements (+28.8%), Odesa - 15,979 (+11.5%), Lviv - 15,566 movements (+28.6%), Kharkiv 8,978 movements (+7.9%), Zaporizhzhia 6,396 movements (+10 %), Dnipro 5,823 movements (6,9 %), Kherson 3,292 movements (+65,9 %), Poltava 3,162 movements (+78,3 %), Ivano-Frankivsk 2,106 movements (2 %), Vinnytsia 1,585 movements (+32,3 %), Chernivtsi 1,137 movements (21,2 %), Kryvyi Rih 710 movements (+13,8 %), Uzhhorod 354 movements (+30,1 %), Rivne 257 movements (+11,7 %).

Ten major airlines that took advantage of UkSATSEs air navigation services in 2018 were the following:
Ukraine International Airlines (Ukraine) 61,691 flights (+7.8% compared to 2017);
Turkish Airlines (Turkey) - 29,972 flights (+8.6%);
Belavia (Belarus) - 16,003 flights (+10.1%);
LOT Polish Airlines (Poland) - 15,813 flights (+24%);
Wizz Air Hungary LLC (Hungary) - 15,251 flights (+72.7%);
Wind Rose (Ukraine) - 9,301 flights (+14%);
Pegasus (Turkey) - 7,664 flights (+31.6%);
Air Moldova (Moldova) - 7,224 flights (+30.7%);
Azur Air Ukraine (Ukraine) - 4,859 flights (+5.5%);
Qatar (Qatar) - 4,673 flights (+135.4%).

Recall that in October 2018, the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has revised Special Federal Aviation Regulation (SFAR) No. 113, Prohibition Against Certain Flights in the Simferopol (UKFV) Flight Information Region (FIR), which prohibited certain flight operations in a portion of the Simferopol (UKFV) FIR by all U.S. air carriers. It is expected that this will be an additional factor in further increasing the intensity of flights in the Ukrainian sky, to which UkSATSE is ready today.
