Modern radar removed from Bahmut, restored and installed in Dubno
On September 20, 2019, UkSATSE commenced the operational use of a state-of-the-art Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar (MSSR SIR-S) near Dubno to provide a reliable radar coverage as part of the system of surveillance of the controlled en-route and terminal airspace in Lviv Flight Information Region.

The operation of this advanced equipment enhances the reliability of the surveillance field, improves the quality of this UkSATSE service, increases the capacity and attractiveness of the airspace in the area of responsibility of Lviv Air Traffic Management Centre.

This radar manufactured by the Italian company Leonardo was previously operated in Bakhmut as part of TRLK-8. But it was damaged by shelling in the course of fighting in the eastern part of Ukraine. While assessing the risks of repeated shelling by Russian-separatist troops, it was important for UkSATSE to rescue such valuable equipment. The UkSATSE specialists managed to dismantle this radar and remove it from the Donbas territory.

UkSATSE continues its focused policy of investing in the development of the national air navigation system infrastructure whereby Ukrainian air traffic controllers receive reliable radar information to ensure an adequate safety level in the Ukrainian sky.
