In May the number of flights in the airspace of Ukraine decreased by almost 90%
The total number of flights performed in May 2020 that UkSATSE provided with air navigation services amounts to 3,237 flights, which is 89.2% less than in May last year.

By flight type, the May air traffic is structured as follows: domestic flights - 685 (-76% compared to May 2019), international flights - 1221 (-91.8%) and transit flights - 1331 (-89.2%).

We would like to remind you that the total number of flights performed in the airspace of Ukraine in April 2020 was 2372 flights.

The air traffic in European airspace has started to gradually recover but experts estimate that the return to pre-crisis flight volumes may last up to two years.

According to the information that UkSATSE has received from Eurocontrol, the average daily number of flights in the European airspace in May 2020 was 86% lower compared to the same indicator in May 2019.

As you know, by the decision of the Government of Ukraine from today, starting from June 5, domestic passenger air transportation has been restored and the launch of international flights is scheduled for June 15, 2020.
