UkSATSE joined top ten European air navigation services providers according to the assessment of the SMS maturity
In 2016, according to the annual assessment of the SMS (Safety Management System) Maturity UkSATSE ranked 10th place among 47 European Air Navigation Services Providers. Thus the company once again proved its leading position on a number of key indicators. The assessment was performed within the framework of a joint project of the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) and the Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO).

This time the assessment was performed even more thoroughly than in previous years. The number of companies in the ranking list of ANSPs increased up to 47 members and the number of categories in which influential international organizations carried out their evaluation increased from 11 to 17 with involvement of new criteria for the assessment.

In whole UkSATSE reached an average index of SMS maturity of 73% in 17 categories of evaluation, while the average index of SMS maturity within ten leading Providers amounts to 76%. As it was summed up in EUROCONTROL and CANSO reports, UkSATSE reached full compliance with the safety management system under the standards of Annex 19 to the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation "Flight Safety Management" and with the target figures stipulated for air navigation services providers at the level of European Union countries.

“In this rather difficult for our country time in general, and for aviation in particular, we continue working hard and improving safety management system. This is a very important part of an integrated management system that operates in UkSATSE. We are proud that the work of experts of our company is highly appraised. Our goal is to attain the highest rate of maturity in the safety management system amongst European air navigation services providers in all categories of evaluation,”- said Dmytro Babeichuk, Director of UkSATSE.
