Volume of air traffic services provided by UkSATSE in 2018 increased by 18.5%
In 2018, Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) provided air navigation services for 300,853 flights, which is 18.5% more than in 2017. UkSATSE provided air navigation services for
106,654
flights of
domestic airlines
(which is 9.7% more than in 2017) and for
194,199
flights of
foreign airlines
(which is 23.9% more than in the same period last year), where
125,145
flights (+23%) are attributed to
transit flights
,

international flights
(departure/landing) and

(+11.8%) – to
domestic flights
. The results of last year consolidated the dynamics of the growth in the volume of air navigation services provided by UkSATSE, which resumed in 2017 after a sharp decrease in the intensity of flights in Ukraine's airspace in 2014 caused by the occupation of the Crimea and the commencement of hostilities in the eastern part of Ukraine.

EASA certified Ukraine
Today, on December 17, 2018 at the headquarters of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in Cologne (Germany), the EASA Flight Standards Director, Jasper Rasmussen, in the presence of the EASA Executive Director, Patrick Ky, serviced the UkSATSE Director, Dmytro Babeichuk a Certificate of Compliance of Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise, as the national provider of air navigation services, to the EU and EASA rules and procedures.

EASA completed certification activities in compliance with EU requirements in the framework of UkSATSE audit
Auditors at the European Agency for Air Safety (EASA) have undertaken certification activities as part of an audit of Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) to check whether the Ukrainian ATC provider complies with EU regulatory requirements.

The FAA gave permission to the US carriers to resume flights in the airspace of Ukraine
The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has revised Special Federal Aviation Regulation (SFAR) No. 113, ‘‘Prohibition Against Certain Flights in the Simferopol (UKFV) Flight Information Region (FIR),’’ which prohibited certain flight operations in a portion of the Simferopol (UKFV) FIR by all U.S. air carriers.

Eurocontrol starts UkSATSE audit
Director of Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) Mr. Dmytro Babeichuk and Director General of the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) Mr. Eamonn Brennan have signed an agreement on the provision of support by EUROCONTROL on conducting an external assessment of the effectiveness of the UkSATSE management system. The agreement was signed on October 10, 2018 at the ICAO headquarters in Montreal in the framework of the 13th ICAO Air Navigation Conference in the presence of Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Mr. Andriy Shevchenko, Director-General for Mobility and Transport Mr. Henrik Hololei and Director for Aviation of the European Commission Mr Filip Cornelis. UkSATSE assessment shall start immediately upon the signing of the document.

UkSATSE guarantees high level of air traffic safety during the UEFA Champions League final match in Kyiv
The Ukraine State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE), as the National Air Navigation Services provider, takes a responsible attitude towards fulfilling its functions and declares its full readiness to guarantee a high level of safety in the Airspace under the responsibility of Ukraine, including during the final match of the UEFA Champions League in Kyiv.

UkSATSE Became a Participant of EUROCONTROL Study to Improve the System of Air Traffic Controllers Selection
Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) has joined a EUROCONTROL’s study on the concurrent validity of the FEAST Personality Questionnaire (FPQ) which assesses the personality traits that have been identified as relevant for becoming an Air Traffic Controller (ATCo). Thus, EUROCONTROL will also use the personality traits of the participating Ukrainian ATCos to set the personality standard for the future European ATCos.

Ukrainian aviation authorities, UkSATSE and FAA consider the possibility of flights resumption of the aircraft with the US registration in the airspace under responsibility of Ukraine
Specialists of Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE), as part of Ukrainian delegation, held consultations with representatives of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), State Department and the US Department of Defense at FAA headquarters in Washington DC.
Main issue of the consultation was consideration of the possibility of reviewing the SFAR No.113 document, which prohibits flights within Simferopol and Dnipropetrovsk flight information regions of operators registered in the United States, due to the temporary occupation by Russia of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Russian aggression in the East of Ukraine. This will be the first step towards renewal of operations of air carriers with American registration in that part of Ukrainian airspace.

In 2017, Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) provided air navigation services for 253,969 flights, which is 18.5% more than in 2016.
