UkSATSE begins staff training on AMHS message handling system
UkSATSE air navigation meteorological specialists have completed advanced training program on Operator of the AMHS Aeronautical Message Handling System with usage of real equipment.

A group of meteorologists from regional structural divisions and the Enterprise’s management staff have received four-day theoretical and practical training carried out by Ihor Skirda, a trainer of the Communication, Navigation and Surveillance Training Department of the Center for Continuing Professional Development of the UkSATSE Aviation Training and Certification Center (ATCC). The trainees familiarized with hardware and software of the AMHS operator automated workstation and gained practical skills in compiling and providing meteorological messages. On bases of training results the trainees received certificates of the established sample.

The ATCC has become the first division where this system was entered into operation, which made it possible to begin training personnel at the stage of introducing new equipment.

AMHS ensures coordination among air traffic services on exchange of planning, organizational and flight operation messages, as well as other official messages, transmitting and receiving aeronautical meteorological information. It will replace the outdated low-performance AFTN network and will remove restrictions on the size and format of messages, ensure fast and secure transmission, taking into account the growing volume of data exchange in accordance with modern international standards and the requirements of ICAO and Eurocontrol.
