Ukraine joins the pan-European AIS Database
October 24-28, 2011, KYIV – Aeronautical Information Service of Ukraine experts had a meeting with an expert from the EUROCONTOL Aeronautical Information Bureau. The main objective of the meeting was providing AIS experts of UkSATSE with consulting support regarding the implementation of Ukraine’s Aeronautical information static data into the pan-European AIS Database (EAD).

UkSATSE’s ad hoc group for updating ATFM in the airspace of Ukraine within the framework of the preparation to the Euro-2012 football championship at its initial meeting has singled out priority issues to be resolved.

Starting today, air traffic service in class G airspace of Ukraine is performed in the English language above the entire Ukrainian territory
UkSATSE has completed all stages of the important project of provision of flight information and emergency service in class G airspace of Ukraine additionally in the English language. From now on, flight information and emergency services are provided in Russian and English in the entire airspace used by general aviation traffic.

UkSATSE implemented the Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) at Kyiv (Boryspil) airdrome
KYIV (BORYSPIL) AIRDROME – Today, at 09:00 UTC (at 12:00 Kyiv time), Ukrainian State Air Traffic Service Enterprise put to operation the Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS). This has become another factor asserting the provision of a high level of flight safety in the Ukrainian sky.

UkSATSE have provided efficient use of airspace and high level of flights safety during the Ukrainian - Polish - American training event SAFE SKIES 2011
Joint civil-military units of the Ukrainian ATM system, which are part of Ukrainian State Air Traffic Service Enterprise (UkSATSE) have successfully completed airspace management and traffic management tasks for military aircraft flights, carried out within the framework of the Ukrainian - Polish - American training event SAFE SKIES 2011, which was closed today in Mirgorod, Poltava region.

ANS System Upgrade
UkSATSE, the Ukrainian national air navigation provider, has applied for a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) and intends to use its proceeds to contribute towards financing the update of its air navigation system to comply with the standards of service as required by the European industry regulators.

UkSATSE Commissioned Third-Generation 3D-Tower Air Traffic Control Simulators
On April 18, 2011, UkSATSE commenced, in all of its regional branches, the operation of 9 state-of-art 3D-Tower simulators with airdrome traffic display. Thus, in the process of professional and refresher training, airdrome tower ATC officers now have an opportunity to process diverse operational situations in conditions having maximum proximity to reality. This yields a chance to improve the expert level of ATCOs, and, hence, air traffic service quality and flight safety in Ukraine’s area of responsibility.

Simferopol: New Airdrome Tower in Operation Starting Today
Starting today, from 1:00 p.m. Kyiv time (10:00 UTC), the airdrome traffic control service in the southern part of the Ukrainian airspace is performed from a new airdrome tower in Simferopol.

UkSATSE proved once again its compliance with air navigation service requirements
The effect of the Air Navigation Service Provision Certificate issued to the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Enterprise has been prolonged for the period of the next three years. The Certificate, issued by the State Aviation Administration, serves as the proof of the national air navigation service provider’s capability to provide services prescribed by the Enterprise’s Statute in conformity with the national requirements in the sphere of air navigation service adapted to incorporate international standards and European Union norms. Therefore, UkSATSE has proved for the second time its ability to provide safe, quality and efficient air navigation service at the European level.
