Andrii Yarmak, Head of UkSATSE, took part in the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine 30", where there was discussion of the ways out of crisis, peculiarities of aviation development in the new realities, prospects of development of regional airports.
Andrii YARMAK: "Today we are talking about regional airports not only as an important component of infrastructure, but also about development of the regional and national economy as a whole, because aviation transport has a significant economic multifunctionality and is the driver of development of many related technological sectors."
The head of UkSATSE also highlighted the provider's important role in resuming full operation of Uzhhorod International Airport.
It is well known that this airport has a geographical feature: it is located on the border between Ukraine and Slovakia. For the full operation of Uzhhorod airport it is necessary to allocate a part of the airspace of Slovakia, where air traffic control is carried out by the air navigation service provider of Ukraine.
“The difficult stages of this process have already been passed: an intergovernmental agreement between the two countries on the use of part of Slovakia's airspace was signed under the patronage of the Ukrainian president, UkSATSE also underwent an audit by the European aviation safety agency EASA and confirmed compliance with European air traffic service standards. Technical cooperation with the Slovakian ANS provider is also ensured. A few steps remain for this airport to be fully operational and we plan to implement them this year, which will open up new opportunities not only for the airport but also for the entire region," stated Andrii Yarmak.
It is worth reminding that on February 8, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky launched a big public dialogue as part of celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine, which will consist of 30 large-scale weekly forums on vital issues for the country |
