| Ukraine and Slovakia to sign Interstate Agreement on Uzhhorod Airport in autumn |
By autumn, Slovakia intends to complete all domestic arrangements for the signing of the Agreement required for the resumption of full operation of Uzhhorod International Airport, which provides for the use of the part of the Slovak airspace to perform take-offs and landings at the Ukrainian aerodrome. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Ivan Korčok in a conversation with Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Mr. Korčok, in particular, noted that the work on the Agreement is a priority for the Slovak side, given the previous agreements to sign the document during the official visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi to Slovakia scheduled for autumn.
It is worth reminding that in June the Government of Ukraine approved a draft Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Slovak Republic on determining the conditions of use of the designated part of the airspace of the Slovak Republic in relation to the provision of air traffic services by the designated Ukrainian air navigation services provider at Uzhhorod International Airport.
With the Agreement signed, UkSATSE will provide air navigation services in the part of the Slovak airspace. The compliance of the Ukrainian ANSP with the European Union standards is confirmed by the Certificate of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) obtained by UkSATSE in late 2018.
UkSATSE, together with the colleagues from the ANSP Letové prevádzkové služby Slovenskej republiky (LPS SR) and the Slovak Ministry of Defence, is currently finalizing the Implementing Protocols which constitute an integral part of the Agreement and regulate the terms and conditions of cooperation at the technical level. |
