Establishment of Ukrainian Joint Civil-Military Air Traffic Management System (JCMS) is one of the major achievements of the aviation industry of Ukraine |
JCMS, as the UkSATSE unit, was established by the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1281 on July 19, 1999. Today Ukraerocenter as the main operational unit of the ATC system of Ukraine celebrates its 17th anniversary and awards its specialists.
First Deputy Director of UkSATSE, Sergii Gombolevskyi in his welcoming address dedicated to the anniversary thanked everyone who provides civil-military coordination and pointed out that the situation in the country has consistently reaffirmed the need for the operation of such a unified system. The JCMS specialists were also welcomed by the first director of UkSATSE, Kirilo Polishchuk and by the first chief of Ukraerocenter, major-general retired, Victor Bereza.
As international practice proves, safe and efficient use of airspace is possible only when direct coordination between civil and military authorities exists. Thus, creation of JCMS was the evidence of the high level of Ukrainian air traffic control as part of the pan-European one.
The fact of establishment and effective functioning of JCMS is always on the list of major achievements of the aviation industry of Ukraine. In the post Soviet scope, JCMS is a unique system that demonstrates the high level of balancing the interests of civil and military airspace users, which allows implementing the concept of flexible use of airspace and ensuring the appropriate level of safety in the Ukrainian sky. |
